Iced Yerba Mate Horchata

A complete and dense Yerba Mate cocktail.


4 oz Argentinian yerba mate tea, cooled
2 oz Unsweetened almond milk
½ oz Cinnamon honey syrup
½ tsp Vanilla extract
Garnish: Cinnamon or cinnamon stick


  1. Shake all ingredients over ice until nice and frothy.
  2. Pour into an ice-filled highball glass and garnish with a dash of cinnamon and a cinnamon stick.
  3. Add 1 oz of spiced rum to enjoy as a rich cocktail.


Yerba Mate Cooler

A cold Yerba Mate drink for when the Sun is out.


2 oz Argentinian yerba mate tea, cooled
2 oz Pink grapefruit juice
½ oz Ginger syrup
½ oz Lime juice
Sparkling water


  1. Shake the yerba mate tea, juices and syrup over ice until well chilled.
  2. Strain into an ice-filled glass and top with a splash of soda.
  3. Garnish with a lime wheel and candied ginger.
  4. To enjoy as a refreshing cocktail, add 2 oz of blanco tequila!


Yerba Mate Smoothie

A Yerba Mate smoothie, filled with fruity wellness.


1 Tbsp Argentinian yerba mate
12 oz of water
1 banana
1 cup of your favorite berries, such as strawberries, blueberries or raspberries
¼ tsp honey (optional for sweetness)
¼ cup of almond milk (optional to make creamier)


  1. Combine yerba mate tea leaves with water in a glass and cover.
  2. Leave in refrigerator overnight for tea to cold brew.
  3. Strain the leaves and put the remaining tea in a blender.
  4. Add all additional ingredients and blend until smooth.
  5. Drink up and enjoy!


Iced Yerba Mate Cashew Latte

A refreshing and nutty Yerba Mate smoothie.


1 cup warm water

1 Argentinian yerba mate tea bag, (or 1 serving loose leaf)

⅓ cup soaked cashews

1 cup cold water

Dash cinnamon

½ tsp honey ice

  1. Steep the yerba mate bag in the warm water. Remove tea bag.
  2. Add steeped Argentinian yerba mate beverage to a blender.
  3. To the same blender, add the soaked cashews, cold water, cinnamon, and honey.
  4. Blend until completely smooth.
  5. Into a clean glass, strain blended liquid through a nut milk bag or cheesecloth.
  6. Add ice, and enjoy!


Yerba Mate Chicken And Cilantro Soup

A golden, warm, and, wholesome Yerba Mate soup.


4 cups boiling water

3 Tbsp loose leaf Argentinian yerba mate tea

2 Tbsp unrefined, cold-pressed olive oil or avocado oil

1 onion, diced

2 carrots, diced

2 garlic cloves, finely chopped

4 cups chicken stock, preferably homemade

2 tsp sea salt, plus more to taste

8 Tbsp white rice or quinoa, rinsed and drained (if using brown rice, cooking time will increase to 45 minutes*)

1-2 Yukon Gold potatoes or boiling potatoes (about 12 oz.), peeled and cut into bite-size pieces

1 cup cilantro

1/2 cup water

1/2 cup cooked shredded chicken

1 cup organic frozen mixed vegetables (cut green beans, whole corn kernels, peas)

freshly ground black pepper to taste

Lime wedges, for serving

  1. Measure the boiling water in a large glass measuring cup or large mug. Place the Aregentinian yerba mate tea leaves in a tea ball or a tea bag and place in the boiling water, allow to steep for 5 minutes, remove the tea ball and set the brewed tea aside.
  2. In a large stock pot , warm the oil. Saute the onion and carrot until tender and translucent. Add the garlic and sautu00e9 until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  3. Add brewed Yerba Mate, chicken stock, salt, rice, and potato and bring to a boil. Lower heat to a simmer and cook, covered until potatoes and rice are tender, about 15 minutes.
  4. Meanwhile, process cilantro and water in a blender. Stir into the soup mixture along with the cooked chicken and frozen vegetables and cook until heated through, about 5 minutes.
  5. Taste for salt and pepper and serve with wedges of lime
